IPNI Toolbar Buttons

We've added some handy toolbar buttons to add to your browser to help you get straight to the IPNI record you want - whether by ID, or by name. Just drag the appropriate links up to your browser's tool bar to install them. Please note that these require JavaScript to work.

NEW If the buttons don't appear in Internet Explorer, check that the Links Toolbar is selected by clicking on View > Toolbars. 'Links' should be checked. Also, make sure that the toolbar is unlocked. In the same menu, View > Toolbars, 'Lock the Toolbars' should NOT be checked. The Links tab on the Toolbar can be dragged to the left so that the installed toolbar buttons are permanently visible.

Firefox: IPNI ID (Names)

Internet Explorer: IPNI ID (Names)

Highlight any IPNI plant name ID you find on a web page and click the button - or click on the button and enter an ID in directly. If the record ID is recognised, the full record page on the IPNI website will be loaded.

Highlight any plant name (don't include authors) you find on a web page and click the button - or click on the button and enter a name directly. If the name is found (there may be multiple results) then the IPNI search results page will be loaded.

Highlight any IPNI author ID you find on a web page and click the button - or click on the button and enter an ID in directly. If the record ID is recognised, the author record page on the IPNI website will be loaded.

Highlight any author abbreviation or standard form you find on a web page and click the button - or click on the button and enter it directly. If the author is found (there may be multiple results) then the IPNI search results page will be loaded.

Highlight any IPNI publication ID you find on a web page and click the button - or click on the button and enter an ID in directly. If the record ID is recognised, the publication record page on the IPNI website will be loaded.

Highlight any IPNI Name ID and automatically turn it into an IPNI LSID and resolve it (Note that you will need to have Launchpad installed in your browser for this to work.
